Senior Day Tours
Senior Day Tours are offered to area seniors about once a month. The goal is to offer one group-rate trip per month for area seniors.
Sign up for announced tours at the Senior Citizens Center any of the Senior Lunches. Participants are asked to confirm attendance at least two weeks in advance. Travel is by District 38 school bus from the School Administration Building (Big Red) or the Tri-Lakes YMCA.
Tri-Lakes HAP welcomes Jonathan Day who has volunteered to serve as the Senior Day Tour Coordinator.
December: Air Force Academy Concert Band
Event: Holly and Ivy Concert
Location: Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs
Date and Time: Tuesday, December 15. Meet at the Tri-Lakes HAP Senior Citizens Center on Lewis-Palmer High School at 5:30. The bus will depart not later than 6 PM and will return directly to the Senior Citizens Center upon completion of the concert. Estimated time of return is 9:30-10 PM.
Details: This no-cost trip is open to a limited number of seniors on a first-come first-served basis. Sign up sheets are available at the Senior Citizens Center or at the Senior Lunches until the available space is filled. The Holly and Ivy performance at the Pikes Peak Center will be one of eight performed throughout Colorado this holiday season by the Concert Band.
The United States Air Force Academy Concert Band proudly represents the Air Force Academy, the leading educational institution developing and inspiring air and space leaders of character with a vision for tomorrow. The Concert Band is the largest of 11 performing units in the Academy Band, comprised of 45 active-duty Air Force music professionals who bring a wealth of educational and professional experience to each performance. The Concert Band maintains a rigorous national performance schedule in support of Cadet and Air Force troop morale, recruiting, and community outreach. The band often performs for radio and television broadcasts, and presents educational performances and clinics at national and international music conferences. For over 50 years, the United States Air Force Academy Concert Band has used the power of music to inspire Air Force personnel and the nation they serve, produce innovative musical programs and products, and communicate Air Force excellence to millions around the world.

June - Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Beautiful, exotic animals, wonderful scenery and a warm, sunny day made the trip to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo a memorable experience for Tri-Lakes seniors. Many thanks to Diane Wegley for putting together and hosting another great trip!
May - Denver Downtown Aquarium
Yes, that’s Curt Clark staring at a snake through a viewing bubble in one of the Denver Aquariums gigantic tanks. Some 15 folks had an enjoyable outing at aquarium Saturday May 23rd. Thanks to Chris Ward and Diane Wegley for making all the arrangements for another enjoyable outing.
March - Butterfly Pavilion
On March 20th about 20 folks enjoyed the butterfly Pavilion in Aurora. All were amazed at how fearless all the critters were. Many would fly right up to you and light somewhere on you. (See white arrows on the below photographs.)
